The Evil Within is one of the free games on offer from the Epic Games Store this week, to give you a dose of horror and get you in the mood for Halloween.
There are two freebies, in fact, and the second game to be given away is a very different kind of puzzler, Eternal Threads.
Head on over to the store to scoop these up now, and don't hang around, as they'll only be available for a couple of days (until October 26).
The Evil Within is a survival horror in which the tension is seriously notched up, and going by the reviews, it's well worth trying if this kind of experience is your bag.
The blurb tells us: "As Detective Sebastian Castellanos, seek the dark truth behind a gruesome mass murder and its connection to a deranged world where hideous creatures wander among the dead."
Sounds intriguing, for sure, and it's notable for being directed by Shinji Mikami of Resident Evil fame.
What's also well worth noting is that after this offer expires, The Evil Within 2 will be in the next batch of freebies - so you'll get to play both the original and sequel to really spook yourself out on the run up to Halloween.
As for Eternal Threads, it's a first-person story-driven puzzler which looks pretty interesting, although the reviews we've seen of this one are a bit more mixed - not everyone is convinced of its merit.
Still, if it sounds like your kind of thing, it's going to cost you absolutely nothing to find out first-hand if it's good or not.
