It's always worth checking out the free games that crop up on the Epic Games Store because sometimes they can be surprisingly good - even away from peak giveaway times like the Holiday season - and that's the case this week.
If you head down to the Epic Games Store now, there are actually three games that can be bagged for the princely sum of absolutely nothing: Sifu, Deliver At All Costs, and Gigapocalypse.
Okay, so these may not be AAA titles that'll immediately make you leap out of your gaming chair, but they're well worthwhile offerings. Sifu is the game you may have heard of - check out the trailer above - and it's a martial arts beat-em-up from Sloclap that has some seriously ardent fans.
There's lots to like about the combat, as well as the atmosphere and style of the game, and indeed those who get addicted to Sifu reckon that this is one of the best PC games you'll ever play.
So, to get it free is pretty cool to say the least, although bear in mind that Sifu is quite demanding and not for the faint of heart. It has a seriously intricate combat system, and some players complain that the controls aren't easy to get to grips with.
Deliver At All Costs is novel, too, because this is a new game that Epic has managed to recruit into the freebie club.
You play a courier in a 1950s setting, ploughing through towns and other landscapes in missions where you're charged with delivering improbable loads of cargo. With destructible landscapes and the ability to drive through buildings, Deliver At All Costs looks like a lot of low-tech fun. Again, check out the trailer above to get a flavor of the action.
Rounding things off, Gigapocalypse is a side-scrolling destruction game in the same vein as the classic Rampage. If you liked that - and we fondly recall losing many coins to that particular arcade machine back in the day - then it may be worth considering this third freebie, too, even if it is the minnow of this particular bunch.
Finally, we must give a hat tip to Neowin for spotting this giveaway, and if you're wondering how long you've got to claim these free games, you can do so over the course of the next week, through to May 29. We're told that there'll be another two freebies made available on the Epic Games Store on that day, so Epic isn't being remotely stingy as we head into the summer.
