The former boss of Blizzard has said that Battlefield 6 will "boot stomp" the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and that the clear winner here is all FPS gamers because of it.
Mike Ybarra is the former CEO of Blizzard Entertainment, posting his thoughts about Battlefield 6 and its impact on Activision-Blizzard's biggest FPS franchise: Call of Duty and its upcoming Black Ops 7 title. He said: "Battlefield will boot stomp CoD this year. But the real win here is CoD won't be lazy anymore, and we'll all get better FPS games for it".
Battlefield 6 has had an explosive entry onto the scene in beta form, racking up more players during its open beta weekend last weekend than Call of Duty with the BF6 Open Beta pulling 512,000+ players on Steam beating out COD's all-time player record.
Not only that, but the Battlefield 6 open beta utterly destroyed the all-time concurrent player counts of Battlefield 2042, and there are still two beta weekends to go.
Ybarra replied to someone who commented on his post, replying with: "CoD will get better because BF will be great. You're blind if you don't see that. Bitter? No, glad I'm not part of the end of Xbox. Upset they can't lead teams to make good games? Yes. Because they layoff all those people for leaderships mishaps".
