TL;DR: G.SKILL and ASUS set a new DDR5 memory overclocking world record at 12872MT/s using G.SKILL Trident Z5 RAM on the ASUS ROG Maximus Z890 Apex motherboard with an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K processor. Overclocker bl4ckdot achieved this milestone with LN2 cooling, pushing DDR5 performance limits further.

G.SKILL and ASUS have broken the DDR5 memory OC world record, with overclocker bl4ckdot pushing G.SKILL Trident Z5 DDR5 RAM up to a huge 12872MT/s on an ASUS ROG Maximus Z890 Apex motherboard.

It was only a couple of months ago in May 2025 that overclocker "bl4ckdot" hit a record at the time with 12774MT/s, but now the overclocker is back with another world record, hitting 12872MT/s. The overclocker holds his world record for the highest DDR5 memory speed once again, using Intel Core Ultra 9 285K processor and ASUS ROG Maximus Z890 Apex motherboard, a combo used multiple times for DDR5 memory speed world records.

LN2 cooling was used to chill the system down, with bl4ckdot using G.SKILL Trident Z5 DDR5 memory at 12872MT/s (6431.1MHz) and cache latencies of CL68-127-127-127-2. HWBOT now lists bl4ckdot at the top, with overclocker "saltycroissant" in second place, with both of the overclockers being the only two to have broken through the 6400MHz barrier on HWBOT's Memory Frequency Hall of Fame.

Saltycroissant used Corsair DDR5 memory for his second-place record, while third place sits with overclocker "Seby" who used G.SKILL Trident Z5 memory to reach 6386.2MHz.

G.SKILL shared bl4ckdot's new world record on its official X account, posting: "Built to Push Limits! @bl4ckdot

has once again shattered the DDR5 frequency world record-reaching an incredible DDR5-12872 using G.SKILL Trident Z5 DDR5 memory, powered by high-performance SK hynix DDR5 ICs. This record-breaking achievement was made possible with the Intel® Core™ Ultra 9 285K processor and the ASUS ROG Maximus Z890 Apex motherboard".
