TL;DR: A custom 7.5L fanless SFF PC, named Monochrome 2, was built using Framework's modular desktop motherboard powered by AMD's Ryzen AI Max+ 395 "Strix Halo" APU with 64GB RAM. Designed for passive cooling, it features a 140W cooling capacity to support the 16-core, 32-thread processor efficiently.

A user has created his own SFF system using the Framework modular PC, which is powered by AMD's new Ryzen AI Max+ 395 "Strix Halo" APU, into a 7.5L fanless chassis, check it out:

The custom fanless project was crafted by SFF Network member "TheJiral" who called it the Monochrome 2, who used Framework's new modular Desktop PC, which TheJiral used as the building blocks of his custom SFF system. The Framework Desktop Motherboard is powered by AMD's new flagship Ryzen AI Max+ 395 "Strix Halo" APU, which TheJiral had paired with 64GB of RAM.

This was a personal passion project by TheJiral, who built the 7.5L fanless chassis ahead of time before the Framework Desktop Motherboard even arrived. AMD's new Strix Halo APU features a 120W TDP, but TheJiral made sure to over- compensate with 140W of cooling capacity, ready for the 16C/32T chip to be maxed out at all times, but run fine passively cooled.

The Jiral explained: "This is my custom project of a completely passive Strix Halo system based on the Framework Desktop Motherboard featuring an "AMD AI MAX+ 395" (how I hate that name) with 64GB unified memory. It is definitely not a rational or cost effective undertaking but rather a tinkering project, trying something new and see how it turns out".

continued: "Currently I have to wait, the case is ready, the custom cooling solution, including custom bent heat pipes is as well. It could take a number of more months though until I can finally get my hands on that Framework board. I read rumours about Strix Halo supply being scarce so maybe it will take longer than "Q3" that is officially the shipping window. We will see. Once I have the board I can see if my contact plate is actually working out or if I have to last minute modify it and then I can finally attempt assembling the heatsink and heat pipes with proper thermal compound".
