Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 has been making headlines, with Bam Margera confirmed to be returning after a campaign led by Hawk himself. However, that's not the only project Hawk has in mind - with reports suggesting he's also pushing for a remaster of the Tony Hawk's Underground series.

In a discussion with Screen Rant, Hawk was asked about his hopes for a THUG remaster:
"I always have aspirations," Hawk said. "It's not up to me generally. I'll campaign all I can, but I'm working with a much bigger company that's a lot smarter than me."
When asked about talks surrounding an Underground remaster, he clarified that the main focus is on the upcoming Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4.
"Yeah, we haven't even released this game," he said, when asked about discussions surrounding Underground.
Tony Hawk's Underground, released in 2003, was a significant departure from its predecessors. Introducing a more story-driven experience, open-world mechanics, and even allowed players to explore on foot or with vehicles, changing the gameplay formula in a major way.
The original THUG, which holds a solid 90 on Metacritic, also set the stage for sequels like Tony Hawk's Underground 2 and Tony Hawk's American Wasteland, each building on the foundation laid by Underground.
A potential THUG remaster would face challenges, particularly with the expanded scope. For example, the complexities of updating the storytelling, motion capture, and animation, along with securing the rights to the game's extensive cast of characters.
Whether the project comes to fruition remains to be seen - but Hawk's interest in a THUG remaster is clear, even if the decision isn't his to make.
