TL;DR: Arrowhead Game Studios launches Masters of Ceremony, a royal-themed Warbond for Helldivers II on May 15.

Arrowhead Game Studios has officially announced Masters of Ceremony - the latest royalty-themed Warbond arriving in Helldivers II on May 15.

As detailed in a recent blog post, Masters of Ceremony mobilizes the Federation's "most regal-looking troops yet." The content pack has a distinctly royal theme, from the musket-style R-2 Amendment to the elegant CQC-2 sabre.

As part of the premium pack, players can access the 'Parade Commander' and 'Honorary Guard' armor sets, which draw inspiration from old-school military uniforms. The bundle also comes with its own strategem, booster, and unique throwable - and, of course, stylish capes to match.

What results is effectively a sci-fi-inspired take on classic World War I paraphernalia. The theme complements the game's radically democratic military, allowing players to celebrate its forebearers and "step into the boots of Super Earth's most decorated units".

From a gameplay standpoint, the new items and weapons align with that old-school theme. The R-2 amendment, the primary weapon of the pack, comes mounted with a bayonet for close-quarters combat and a 20-round magazine. The CQC-2 Sabre, as a secondary, lets players slash through enemies in old-school, ceremonial fashion.

The game's new strategem, the CQC-1 One True Flag, lets players "inspire those around you" while doubling as a spear. The G-142 grenade, when used, spins and "showers the surrounding area in sparks" before exploding into a ball of flames.

In addition, Arrowhead is also adding new FRV patterns (essentially color variants) to previously released Warbonds - including: Viper Commando, Freedom's Flame, Chemical Agents, and Truth Enforcers.

The standard price for a Warbond is 1000 super credits, which can be purchased for $9.99 USD, or earned by progressing in-game. Masters of Ceremony, along with the new FRV patterns, will be made available in Helldivers II come May 15.
