The Assassin's Creed franchise has found itself in a peculiar spot after developer Ubisoft has seen incredibly lackluster support for its newly released titles, along with a rocky launch of Assassin's Creed Shadows that was plagued with tumultuous marketing and delays.
Following the launch of Shadows, Ubisoft entered into a new partnership with Tencent to manage its top IPs, such as the Assassin's Creed franchise, and now we are hearing about what the developer has in store for the franchise in the future. In a new exclusive report from Insider Gaming's Tom Henderson, Ubisoft has multiple Assassin's Creed projects in the works, specifically what will happen with the franchise over the next six years.
Ubisoft has planned nine new Assassin's Creed games over the next six years, and not all of them are traditional Assassin's Creed experiences. Some are multiplayer, some are remakes, and others are "smaller experiences." As for mainline Assassin's Creed games, the report states Ubisoft intends to release a new mainline title every 2-3 years, with these remakes and smaller experiences littered in between the launches of the mainline titles. Below is what Ubisoft has in the works, with most of the titles being codenamed. The following is generally in order of release.

Upcoming Assassin's Creed Games (Codenamed)
- Jade - The codename for the next mainline Assassin's Creed game that is set in China.
- Invictus - Is currently the working title for an Assassin's Creed game inspired by Fall Guys. Players are said to compete in matches of 16 players. Internal plans pegged to be supported by Ubisoft for 5 years after its release, with updates already conceptualized.
- Obsidian - Remake of Assassin's Creed Blackflag, but built on the new Anvil engine.
- Hexe - Initially was codenamed Neo, but is now Hexe. Assassin's Creed Hexe is slated to release after the support window for Shadows expires, which is meant to be 2 years from now. Hexe will have 1 year of DLC support.
- Scarlet - Ubisoft's next big Assassin's Creed RPG that is scheduled to release after Shadows and after the support for Hexe ends. Henderson writes he has been unable to obtain more details about the title, but can say it has been greenlit by Ubisoft and has entered production. Henderson adds that his personal speculation is that Scarlet is Assassin's Creed Nebula, a rumored title that takes place in three different locations: India, the Mediterranean, and the Aztec Empire.
- Stardust - This is the second remake in development at Ubisoft, but it's currently unclear what title the company is selecting to be remade.
- Emerald - This title is slated to launch shortly after Stardust, specifically within a couple of months. It will be another multiplayer title that has at least a 5-year plan ahead of it. Henderson writes that it could be the PvE game previously codenamed as "Raid" or the other multiplayer game codenamed "Echoes".
- RPG3 - There isn't a codename assigned to this project, or even a developer or theme. But, it's scheduled to release sometime after Scarlet's two years of support.
