TL;DR: Cooler Master introduced an RTX 5080 concept at CES 2025, featuring a customizable cooling solution allowing users to swap out the fans - and we've just caught sight of it again. However, the resulting board is an eye-opening 90mm thick, occupying four slots. The other catch is that it'll only be available in prebuilt PCs from Cooler Master, and not as a standalone product.

Cooler Master's novel take on an RTX 5080 graphics card was presented at CES 2025, and we've now seen some further details about this innovation (complete with pics, too, a couple of which you can check out above and below).

You may not have seen the original revelation, but Cooler Master's idea is to present an RTX 5080 with a custom cooling solution that allows for the fans to be swapped out - and other manufacturer's fans can be used, not just those from Cooler Master.

In other words, you can pick a high-quality fan of your preference, one that's nice and quiet, to keep the RTX 5080 cool and running smoothly.

We've just caught sight of one of these boards on Bilibili, as Neowin flagged up, the caveat being that it's a hefty 90mm thick with the owner's chosen cooling solution. That's a four-slot beast, if you're counting (and you will be counting).

The other catch is that these RTX 5080s are only going to be supplied as part of prebuilt PCs from Cooler Master. You won't be able to buy one as a standalone product and go to town with fan customization, sadly.

Still, it's an intriguing idea which turned some heads at CES 2025, so maybe we'll see more of this concept elsewhere, eventually.
