NVIDIA has released a new WHQL GeForce driver, version 610.88, that adds game-ready support for Halo: Campaign Evolved, Gears of War: E-Day Beta, and seven bug fixes, including two from the previous hotfix driver.
Fixed gaming bugs feature five total fixes, including game stability improvements in Silent Hill F, and a game crash fix for Strange Brigade/Zombie Army 4: Dead War caused when the NVIDIA App in-game overlay is used. The driver also includes fixes for crashing and performance problems in Halo: Campaign Evolved and Path of Exile 2 that were introduced with the 610.82 hotfix driver last week. Under the "Fixed General bugs" patch notes for the 610.88 driver, a fix was introduced for RTX Dynamic Vibrance being incorrectly applied to Wallpaper Engine, and a crash fix for Paint.NET when NVIDIA Surround is enabled.

Only one known issue was listed in the patch notes, where enabling "Prefer Maximum Performance" may not be applied correctly. This problem is also present in the 610.82 hotfix driver.
Unfortunately, NVIDIA failed to add any bug fixes for Battlefield 6 Season 4's outgoing crashing issues to driver 610.88, which is arguably one of the biggest known problems affecting NVIDIA's latest 600 series driver branch at the moment. For the uninitiated, Battlefield 6's development team reported on X that some players are experiencing GPU crashes when playing on maps with large bodies of water. The issue is reportedly more problematic on RTX 50 series cards, with the devs recommending Battlefield 6 gamers with the issue to roll back all the way to NVIDIA driver version 596.49.
Fixed Gaming Bugs:
- (Halo: Campaign Evolved): Resolved game crashes observed on RTX 50 Series GPUs with R610 drivers. (6259837)
- Path of Exile 2: Fixed intermittent long pauses that could occur after extended gameplay sessions in DX12 mode (5090018)
- Silent Hill F: Gaming stability improvements (6432954)
- (Strange Brigade/Zombie Army 4:Dead War): Game may crash when exiting if NVIDIA App In-Game Overlay is enabled (6392324)
- Improves frame pacing in certain DX11 games when Smooth Motion is used while G-SYNC is enabled (6300603)
