It was only a few months ago that Crytek unveiled their CRYENGINE 5.6 Tech Trailer video which I've got embedded below. Check it out to refresh your memory before we dive into what could actually be very, very exciting.

At the end of the CRYENGINE 5.6 Tech Trailer video there are a bunch of shots from an island very similar to the one you first drop into in Crysis. It even featured parts of the original Crysis soundtrack, stirring rumors of a remake... well... about that. EA is now talking about remaking a bunch of its classic games.

During EA's recent earnings call, the company announced it has plans to launch "exciting remasters of fan favorites" in their 2021 fiscal year. EA's build up of remasters will include Command & Conquer and others, but surely... just surely... this has to include Crysis. Crysis is a fan favorite, right?!

I would truly love to see Crysis redone for 2020/2021, powered with next-gen graphics, higher resolutions (and higher-res textures) as well as ray tracing support. It could well and truly be the 'new Crysis' with a remastered version of Crysis out-Crysising the original Crysis. If that makes sense.

Whatever it is, please let it be true.
