Xbox is changing. Following years of controversial Halo releases, Xbox has now handed Halo over to Activision. The house of Call of Duty is taking this Mantle of Responsibility seriously--Activision says they want to make the best Halo game in the series. So...what does that look like?
Activision's new Halo game will reboot the series in some way, says insider TechnicalHalo, whose Halo leaks have been accurate in the past. "This is a reboot, a new chapter, lore is not going to be continued," they said on Twitter.
Specifics are obviously unknown, but the plan may fall in line with what most Halo players seem to want. The expanded Forerunner lore established by Halo Studios/343 Industries has been somewhat controversial due to many factors, including its complexity and how it veers away from the war themes of Halo and delves deep into sci-fi mythology.
Existing franchise story lead Jeff Easterling aka GrimBrotherOne has been laid off from his position as a result of the changes.
