It looks like Qualcomm is planning to release their next-gen Snapdragon 845 processor sooner rather than later, with the new Snapdragon 845 listed in new patent documents.
The news is courtesy of the on-going legal battle between Apple and Qualcomm, with teh Snapdragon 845 showing up on Qualcomm's ITC filing that wants to ban iPhone sales in the US. Samsung's next-gen Galaxy S9 is said to be the first to rock the Snapdragon 845, and will be released in early 2018. LG is also touted to use Qualcomm's latest chip in their next-gen flagship due out in 2018.
As part of the documentation on why Qualcomm wants the iPhone sales to be banned in the US, the company listed patented chipsets - something that includes SDM845, or the Snapdragon 845.
