TL;DR: Rockstar is growing its Creator Platform for Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead, hiring six roles-two focused on code design and four duplicated listings across London and New York-after acquiring CFX.re (makers of FiveM and RedM). Most prior Creator Platform hires have been filled, suggesting progress toward future GTA Online plans.

Rockstar Games is expanding its Creator Platform, an infrastructure designed to serve both Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption with custom, player-made content.

It appears Rockstar might have big plans for the future of GTA and Red Dead Online. To make this happen, the publisher bought CFX.re, the community team behind GTA and Red Dead roleplay servers FiveM and RedM. These servers, which are only on PC, have custom content that gamers can buy a-la-carte. It's possible that this user-generated content (UGC) framework could come to console in some way.

In previous articles I discussed how this could work--possibly a Roblox-style UI with downloadable creations. Nothing has been confirmed so far, but new job listings reveal that the studio is currently hiring for six roles related to the Creator Platform system. Two of them are for code design, and the other four seem to be just two job listings that are duplicated across Rockstar's London and New York offices.

It's hard to tell without more clarification, but it could also indicate that Rockstar might want to create two Creator Platform teams across the London and New York offices to spearhead and coordinate new designs.

All of these Creator Platform job listings are new except for the senior product manager, showing that Rockstar is making progress filling out this team. Back in April, I reported that Rockstar was hiring five Creator Platform roles. Almost all of those have been filled since then, and it's possible that Rockstar is currently ramping up its plans for the next iteration of GTA Online, which is expected to include GTA 6's locale at some point.
