After months of rumors and leaks, including trailers and other promotional material, Logitech has officially announced the PRO X3 SUPERSTRIKE gaming mouse. It's the follow-up to the Logitech G PRO X2 SUPERSTRIKE, which launched at the beginning of this year, making it a rare revision for a flagship gaming peripheral to appear within a year of the original.
As with the first SUPERSTRIKE, the big news here is HITS, the name Logitech gives to its new Haptic Inductive Trigger System for the main switches. Like magnetic keyboard switches, this analog technology lets gamers dynamically adjust actuation levels and haptic feedback, with support for features like rapid trigger.
The X2 SUPERSTRIKE was the first time we'd seen this tech in a gaming mouse, and the new PRO X3 SUPERSTRIKE builds on that foundation. With HITS, input latency for PC gaming improves by up to 30ms, and the PRO X3 version makes several subtle design changes that make it a step forward.
The real question with the PRO X3 SUPERSTRIKE is whether its updates and improvements are enough for PRO X2 SUPERSTRIKE owners to trade in their existing model for the new PRO X3. On paper, the refined weight balance (at a lightweight 59 grams), improved battery life, and updated HERO 2 sensor are all plusses, but it could be more of a mouse for those that didn't pick up the X2 on day one.

Going back to the hardware, the new NxLOGI chipset helps improve power efficiency by around 50%, so you've now got 135+ hours of battery life, which is a massive improvement over the X2. Logitech says this also improves latency, further refining the HITS Technology system. Rounding out the changes, the improved HERO 2 sensor also increases sensitivity to 44,000 DPI, along with maximum acceleration to 88G and tracking speed to 888 IPS.
