Square Enix is set to conclude its epic Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy in April with the release of FF7 Revelations, the last chapter in the saga. The game will have three editions and two story expansions in a very predictable business model that we've seen time and time again.

FF7 Revelation will have a base $70 version; a $100 premium edition that's basically a kind of pre-order for the GOTY edition with expansions, items with in-game bonuses that affect gameplay, and 24 hours of early access; and a premium plus version for $110 that includes everything in premium along with a digital artbook, a digital soundtrack, and a special in-game item that slightly restores your MP after battle (a pretty advantageous buff).

There are also two new story expansions, one for Sephiroth and another that chronicles Vincent's time with the Turks, possibly exploring these early days when the Turks were known as Shinra's Department of Administrative Research.

Square Enix also confirms that the expansion content will be sold separately and is not exclusive to the premium edition: "The Story Expansion Pass will also be available for individual purchase after the release of FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION."

Open a question for an answer from TweakTown's coverage of this news, or ask your own below.

Question #1

What are the differences between the base, Premium, and Premium Plus editions of Final Fantasy 7 Revelation?

The base edition is the $70 standard release. The Premium edition ($100) adds pre-order access to the GOTY-style bundle with expansions, in-game bonus items that affect gameplay, and 24 hours of early access. The Premium Plus edition ($110) includes everything in Premium plus a digital artbook, a digital soundtrack, and a special in-game item that slightly restores your MP after battle.
Question #2

Which in-game bonuses or items come with the Premium and Premium Plus editions and how do they affect gameplay?

The Premium edition includes the expansions, unspecified items "with in-game bonuses that affect gameplay," and 24 hours of early access. The Premium Plus edition includes everything in Premium plus a digital artbook, a digital soundtrack, and a special in-game item that slightly restores your MP after battle, providing a small but advantageous buff to recovery.
Question #3

Will the Sephiroth and Vincent story expansions be sold separately after launch?

Yes. Square Enix confirms the Story Expansion Pass, which includes the Sephiroth and Vincent expansions, "will also be available for individual purchase after the release of FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION." The expansions are not exclusive to the premium edition.
Question #4

When exactly does Final Fantasy 7 Revelation release and does any edition include early access?

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation releases on April 8, 2027. The $100 premium edition includes 24 hours of early access, and the $110 premium plus edition includes the same early access along with additional digital extras.
