AMD quietly released a low-profile version of the RX 9060 XT late last year, but since its release, there has been little to no information on the card's performance, until now. ETA Prime grabbed an RX 9060 XT 16GB LP Vastarmor graphics card and benchmarked the card in several games. On average, the low-profile card was 7% slower on average than its full-fat 16GB counterpart.
In 3DMark Steel Nomad and Time Spy, the RX 9060 XT LP was 6% slower in Steel Nomad and 8% slower in Time Spy compared to the vanilla RX 9060 XT 16GB. In Time Spy, the RX 9060 XT LP achieved 3,583 points in Steel Nomad and 15,057 points in Time Spy. The RX 9060 XT 16GB achieved 3,820 points in Steel Nomad and 16,333 points in Time Spy.

For the uninitiated, AMD released a low-profile version of the RX 9060 XT last year as a separate SKU with its own minor tweaks compared to the RX 9060 XT. The GPU features the same GPU cores and memory subsystem as its vanilla counterpart, but power consumption drops from 160W to 140W. AMD's implementation of making an independent low-profile version of the RX 9060 XT is different from NVIDIA, where its AIB partners have created low-profile versions of the regular RTX 5060 (NVIDIA does not differentiate in its product stack whether its GPUs are low profile or not). However, the card ETA Prime had in for testing does have power headroom to achieve nearly 155W through overclocking tools such as MSI Afterburner, giving users the option to reduce much of that TGP offset from the vanilla RX 9060 XT.

Despite ETA Prime getting their hands on an RX 9060 XT LP, there are still virtually no AIB partner models on the market today. Vastarmor is one of the only graphics card manufacturers to launch an RX 9060 XT LP trim currently. Likely, the VRAM shortage is encouraging AIB partners to prioritize VRAM for other more popular AMD GPU models on the market.
