GTA 6 leak suggests it'll have 'NPCs with their own routines' and social networks so you can follow in-game influencers

Some fresh GTA 6 gameplay info has been spilled courtesy of Amazon, including the apparent depth of the integrated social networks feature, which will allow you to "follow influencers" and view viral videos.

The leak, spotted by Vice, comes via the Amazon site in Brazil, where the product page for GTA 6 has gone live for pre-orders complete with said details.

Some of this we already know, but there are some interesting nuggets of info which are new, and some pretty cool stuff therein - assuming all this is genuine, of course (and there's some skepticism about that).

Seemingly there'll be the opportunity to switch between the main characters, Jason and Lucia, in real-time during missions.

We're also told the open world will be a more vibrant place, featuring "NPCs with their own routines, random events, interactive establishments, and a greater sense of immersion."

The integration of social networks into GTA 6 is also flagged, and you'll be able to: "Watch viral videos, follow influencers, and discover world events through your in-game mobile phone."

That element of the game was hinted at in the trailers, mind you, but it's explicitly made clear here. The idea of this highly-fleshed-out social media side of GTA 6 is divisive, as some hate the concept, whereas others have expressed sentiments along the lines of this Redditor: "If I can doom scroll in this game it may become my top 3 of all time."

Flooded streets

Also noteworthy is that the next-gen visuals will feature "dynamic weather" which backs up other recent rumors that there'll be some pretty spectacular environmental effects, such as streets being flooded, adding to the overall realism of GTA 6.

Vice also points out that another major Brazilian retailer, Kabum, has leaked details of the boosts that the PS5 Pro will give GTA 6 players - but this should be regarded with more caution.

That said, it's hardly surprising to hear that the PS5 Pro will offer "more stable frame rates" and a "higher resolution" than the vanilla PS5, and we're told there will be "native optimization designed to take advantage of PS5 Pro hardware".

We can also expect "realistic reflections on cars, water, and the environment" as well as dynamic weather that actually affects gameplay (another reference to the possible flooding effects).
