Forza Horizon 6 has officially gone gold two weeks ahead of its May 19 release, giving players and developers a healthy buffer ahead of launch.
Playground Games confirmed the final build is locked and ready for distribution, with preloads now live on Xbox and PC. This early gold status only signals that Playground Games is extremely happy with the condition of Forza Horizon 6, which has now set the stage, even more than previous marketing material, for a polished next-gen racing experience.
The game features an expanded soundtrack with 9 radio stations spanning electronic, rock, and synthwave, marking the largest music library in the series to date. Accessibility features like AutoDrive, Proximity Radar, and high-contrast mode have also been highlighted, with post-launch support for ASL and BSL sign language in cinematics.

The aforementioned additions underline Playground Games' commitment to inclusivity and broad player appeal.
With preloads already live and pre-orders surpassing 500,000 copies on Steam, Forza Horizon 6 is primed for a very strong and exciting launch. The title will be available on Xbox Series X|S and PC, with PlayStation 5 support in the works.
As a flagship title for Xbox Game Pass, it could significantly impact Microsoft's subscription strategy and hardware sales momentum in 2026.
The early gold status also suggests that Playground Games has perhaps already moved on to developing additional content for Forza Horizon 6, especially since the game is essentially "done". With Forza fans eagerly awaiting release, Playground Games has beautifully set the stage for one of the most anticipated racing titles of the year.
