Forza Horizon 6 is launching on May 19, but ahead of the debut, details about a preview have surfaced online, easing some cautious fan concerns. One of the biggest concerns with Playground Games' description of the Forza Horizon 6 world was whether the world would feel hollow, given how big it is. That doesn't seem to be the case, as a YouTuber with an Xbox Series X preview build of the title has described a world with abundant traffic and extremely detailed environments.

Unsurprisingly, the video showcasing the preview has been taken down from the channel, along with subsequent Reddit posts outlining the YouTuber's experience. The early code provided to the YouTuber granted access to one hour of progression, after which the YouTuber entered free roam around Tokyo. Despite takedowns of the content, some Reddit posts have gathered the details into a list.

The YouTuber outlined some pretty interesting details, such as the game looking better than the trailers showcase, the gameplay feeling "underground" compared to previous Forza Horizon games, the build being locked to 4K at 30FPS on quality mode, a 60FPS performance mode available at launch, sound design being a highlight, and the city [Tokyo] being abundant with traffic, and activity. Additionally, the city felt "lively" and not "empty at all".

Below is a summary of the preview details from the YouTuber.

  • Duration is 27th March to 8th April
  • 1 hour of linear progression, but then free to explore and customize
  • Only on Xbox (not PC build)
  • Says the game looks better than the marketing suggests: insanely detailed
  • FH6 feels "underground" compared to the vibes of prior FH, especially Tokyo
  • City is massive, claims it feels bigger than the 5 x Guanajuato that was advertised
  • City doesn't feel empty at all; there's activity and traffic density is way better than the IGN build. No GTA style pedestrians everywhere but still lively
  • Build is locked to 30 FPS at 4K in quality mode (on XSX). Game will have a 60 FPS performance mode on launch too.
  • Claims FH6 is the most beautiful game he's seen
  • Claims sound design is a real highlight
  • Engine sounds are super immersive, and claims the you'd turn off music to listen to the cars
  • He says he tested some cars from FH5 in comparison. Says they don't feel drastically different unless you add Turbo with Anti Lag, after which the improvement is noticeable (not sure if he referring specifically to the sound or the handling)
  • He did the intro, a few races and some exploration for an hour so far, and doesn't want to put it down because it is beautiful
  • He says he can't judge progression yet, but it feels harder. He finished 4th in his first race and did not see any wheelspins yet
  • You start in a basic C Class car, 3 options will be provided
  • He counted about 15 cars in the build, some of which weren't on the official list
