If you thought the GTA 6 launch date was locked in at this point, a former Rockstar employee has warned that we may not be out of the woods just yet in terms of another potential delay.

As Dexerto noticed, Indy100 fired over some questions (via Covers.com) to an animator who used to work at Rockstar. That ex-staffer, Mike York, was part of the team that made GTA 5 and said that he "would not be shocked at all" if GTA 6 experienced another delay.
Popular Now: Memory capacity for all of 2027 has reportedly been booked and sold, with no more DRAM or HBM availableNote that this isn't based on any inside source that York still has at Rockstar, or leaked info, and the animator made it clear that this is simply based on his previous experience at the developer.

But he theorizes that if the game isn't judged as perfect, Rockstar won't be scared to push the launch back once again. Even if it's just a case of "there are still a few bugs in this final mission", York believes that Rockstar could still hold off the release.
York stated: "Straight up, they could delay it again ... They can do whatever they want and people will wait right now, it doesn't matter. If they need to do what they need to do, they'll do it."
I'm not sure that yet another delay wouldn't matter at all, although gamers would have little choice but to accept it. One thing's for sure: it would cause chaos (again) for the games that were set to release in the new launch timeframe for GTA 6.

Take-Two's CEO has been pretty firm that the game is going to hit the November 19 release date, and the general thinking is that it's unlikely another delay will happen - not unless something disastrous occurs in these final stages of development.
