A new developer diary for Skyblivion shows just how far the total conversion mod has come, and the team is still confident about launching Skyblivion this year.

Skyblivion might be the most ambitious user-created mod in history, aiming to completely rebuild Oblivion within the Skyrim engine. The project has been in development since 2012, and over the past 13 years, the team has made incredible strides. The latest dev diary showcases footage from The Gold Coast, including the city of Anvil, as well as the Siege of Kvatch battle sequence. Thanks to the progress, the free Skyblivion mod is set to release sometime in 2025.
"While we're not in a position to provide an exact release date just yet, we remain confident that we'll meet our goal to launch this year," the devs say in the latest Skyblivion footage.

New Skyblivion details confirmed in August update

- Unique items have been redesigned, and even have custom attack animations
- Argonians and Khajiit can wear all armor types
- "Beyond crafting each piece from the ground up, we've tailored them to accommodate the beast races so that tails, ears, horns, and the shape of helmets themselves are taken into account."
- Jewelry has been re-designed
- "Roleplay any origin and character you desire, supported by the unique items that we've provided."
- New enemies lifted right from Oblivion and put into Skyrim, including spider daedra, clannfear, and xivilai
- Oblivion worlds now have 11 different combinations for greater variety

The team also wants more volunteers to help them in Skyblivion's home stretch:
"While progress has been steady, we are always looking for more volunteers to help us finish the project and get it into your hands as soon as possible. We are especially interested in modders with experience in scripting, quests, editing records, perks, NPCs or level design, or 3D artists with experience creating clothing or plants. If you have experience in any of these fields, or any other skills that may be of use, feel free to apply here. Consider joining us on the final stages of our epic quest to remake Oblivion."
