Those of you keenly awaiting the two-player co-op option for Elden Ring Nightreign, which is coming in the next patch, might be disappointed to learn that this update has been delayed - albeit only by a day.
And there's a good excuse for this delay, as the decision has been made due to the tsunami warning (after the earthquake in the Pacific Ocean, which was a worrying 8.8 magnitude affair).
FromSoftware announced the postponement on X (see the above post, which was noticed by Wccftech).
Patch 1.02 was supposed to emerge today, but will instead be deployed tomorrow (becoming available from 1pm PDT). It carries the aforementioned much-wanted duo mode, and quality-of-life work for the interface, which includes more filtering options for Relics.
Previously, Elden Ring Nightreign could be played as a trio, or just solo, and there were plenty of disgruntled gamers who wanted a middle road where just themselves and a single friend could play together. As it is, you're forced to wait for a third, and bringing a random into your session can obviously be an unpredictable affair.
Mods have been brought out to fudge a duo experience in Nightreign, but obviously having this natively supported is a whole different experience.
Patch 1.02 is also to be followed by new Everdark bosses and that has been pushed back until after the update has been rolled out - but we can still expect them to arrive shortly after the patch.
So, sit tight and be patient, we don't have long to wait for either the update or the other inbound goodies.
