Ubisoft was recently caught in hot water by blaming gamers for the company's recent failures, while also saying that adding microtransactions to its games actually makes them more fun. Now rumors are flying that the company has silently canceled the sequel to Star Wars Outlaws.

Ubisoft recently refused to take any accountability for its past failures, which includes Star Wars Outlaws. During a financial meeting, the company's leadership stated the game failed due to it not being released at a time when Star Wars was popular, but that simply isn't true, as other Star Wars media, such as The Mandalorian, Andor, and Tales of the Empire, were all doing extremely well in the cultural zeitgeist.
Now, reports from Insider Gaming's Tom Henderson have revealed during a recent podcast that Ubisoft "recently canceled Star Wars Outlaws 2, adding that it hadn't yet entered full production, and the game was still "very, very, early" in its development. While this news is still a rumor at this stage, as we haven't received confirmation from Ubisoft, it's not totally shocking considering the underwhelming performance of the first game. It wouldn't be surprising if this cancellation happened shortly after how poorly Outlaws performed after it was released.
