We've again heard from the rumor mill that Apple's first MacBook with an OLED screen will arrive in 2026.

MacRumors picked up the latest speculation in favor of that launch date which comes from an analyst at Omdia, in a press release on the subject of the suppliers for Apple's laptop displays.
Omdia's Linda Lin wrote that:
"OLED technology, with its superior display performance and slimmer, lighter form factors, is expected to be introduced in MacBooks starting 2026."
The analyst further observed that Samsung Display is set to join the ranks of the suppliers for Apple's MacBooks at the same time, which would intensify competition among panel manufacturers as the transition from LCD to OLED is made.
Lin doesn't mention any specific model of MacBook here, but the expectation is very much that Apple will debut OLED screens in its MacBook Pro first. In fact, this has been the rumor for years now, as you may be aware - and obviously it makes sense to introduce expensive tech in a laptop that commands a more premium price tag.
The prevailing theory is that the MacBook Air could get OLED the following year after Apple's pro-targeted laptops.
There could be a much bigger move afoot with Apple's range of notebooks, mind, than the supposed introduction of OLED next year - and that's the possible debut of a MacBook 13-inch that uses an iPhone CPU to make it cheaper. That model could even pitch up late this year, and is expected to take affordability to a new level for MacBooks.
Apple could certainly use the help in terms of sparking sales and shifting more Macs.
