TL;DR: A hawk-eyed Redditor noticed a blooper in the well-polished second trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6. It's a lighting error where the muzzle flash appears before the gunshot happens, sparking jokes and mock pre-order cancellations among gamers.

There's a mistake in the second trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 that recently emerged, and gamers have been quick to jump on it, threatening - in tongue-in-cheek style - to cancel their pre-orders for the game.

You can see the faux pas in the trailer as highlighted on Reddit above (hat tip to PC Gamer), and it happens in the scene where Jason is leaning out of a car and shooting a gun.

What should happen is the gunshot is fired, followed by the muzzle flash lighting up Jason's body and face, but what actually occurs is the lighting effect comes a smidge too early - just before the trigger is pulled. Whoops.

Unless, of course, this is no mistake at all, and someone randomly shined a torch on Jason just as he was about to shoot them (ahem).

Anyway, given the overall quality of Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer number two, we'll let Rockstar off with this slight slip-up. Although as noted, plenty of gamers on that Reddit thread have been quick to make a joke or three.

For example, about how GTA 6 is clearly broken and unplayable (though technically, it is unplayable right now, at least outside of testing suites). Or folks mock cancelling their pre-orders in disgust.

You may recall that when the second trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 was published, it racked up no fewer than 475 million views across all platforms in its first 24 hours, making it the most-watched trailer for anything, ever. (Beating the Deadpool & Wolverine movie trailer, and by some way).

What's been a bit of a dampener on the GTA 6 hype fires in recent times is the news that the release has been delayed to May 26, 2026. Still, only just over a year to go now.
