Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 is set to be released on Sony's PlayStation 5 at some point this summer, the developer has confirmed.
Ninja Theory told us that the Norse-themed action-adventure sequel will debut on the PS5 at some stage in the next three months in the above post on X (flagged by Wccftech), with a slight tweak to the game's title, adding an 'Enhanced' on the end.
The announcement came on the one-year anniversary of the release of Senua's Saga: Hellblade II, which arrived back in May 2024 on Xbox Series X and S consoles, and Windows PCs.
The sequel benefits from fancier graphics, courtesy of Unreal Engine 5, so it'll be interesting to see how the game looks on the PlayStation 5 Pro in particular. Reviewers have praised Hellblade 2 not just for the undoubted quality of its visuals, but also the game's story and character development.
Not all of the feedback about the sequel was positive, mind you, with some fans of the original criticizing the follow-up for being too linear and not interactive enough (and overly short, for that matter).
There's no doubting the atmosphere it creates, and the quality of the graphics, though, and the bonus here is that there are some new features inbound with the PS5 version. Rest assured, they will also be provided to Xbox and PC gamers as an update coinciding with the release of the Enhanced Edition.
The developer said it will provide more details on Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 Enhanced soon enough, so hopefully we'll get some more concrete details on what those new features are.
