In a recent blog post, the development team revealed that players explored only 25% of Hagga Basin, the game's starting survival map, throughout the weekend. WIth large expanses of desert, vehicles naturally proved essential for traversal, with an impressive 214,919 vehicles crafted.

Combat was equally significant, with close to ten million scavengers - the game's primary enemy type - eliminated during the test run. Dune: Awakening utilizes third-person action-based combat, which lends itself to a relatively accessible gameplay experience compared to tab-target based MMOs.

Survival gameplay is also a key factor in the game. Among participating players, 56,994 progressed to the Planetologist class, an exploration and resource gathering skill tree that enables survival in hostile environments while initiating terraforming processes.

When it comes to the hazards of the world itself, some 65,473 players succumbed to the scorching sun, while 10,063 unfortunate souls were lost to sandstorms. Perhaps most notably, 107,959 players were devoured by Shai-Hulud, the Fremen term for the sandworms of Arrakis.

The complete infographic of statistics is available in the game's news post. The numbers highlight quite a variety of playstyles and gameplay mechanics featured throughout this expansive MMO, giving prospective players insight into what awaits them in Dune: Awakening.

Dune: Awakening launches June 10 at $49.99 for the standard edition, $69.99 for the Deluxe Edition, and $89.99 for the Ultimate Edition. At this stage, the game is only coming to PC, with a console port estimated for early 2026.
