TL;DR: QD-OLED gaming monitors are becoming more affordable as technology matures, with MSI and Acer unveiling 500Hz QD-OLED panels at Computex 2025. Acer’s Predator X27U F5 offers a 2560x1440 resolution, 0.03ms response time, and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, targeting competitive gamers at around $1,000 in EMEA.

The gaming monitor market was graced with QD-OLED not too long ago, but as with the majority of new technology when it's first introduced, its price point is out of reach of the general consumer. QD-OLED gaming monitors were no different, but now the technology is starting to mature prices are beginning to trickle down to the more affordable price points, meaning gamers are able to snag pretty great deals on what is easily the best pixel technology available for gaming.

But what is the peak or cream of the crop when it comes to QD-OLED panels? How far can they truly be pushed? Computex 2025 is about to kick off, and we have already gotten a peek behind the curtain at what will be showcased at the trade show, with MSI exclusively confirming to me they will be unveiling a 500Hz QD-OLED panel.

Now, MSI isn't the only monitor company to unveil a bleeding-edge display such as this, as Acer has informed me it will be matching MSI's variant with the Predator X27U F5, a 2560 x 1440 (QHD) monitor sporting a 500Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms (GtG) response time.

These monitors are the best of the best, as speeds such as this and games that can fully take advantage of the maximum 500Hz refresh rate are going to have the least amount of motion blur out of any monitor on the market. What we are dealing with here shouldn't be understated, as at 500Hz, viewers' eyes are being updated with new light from a moving object at a rate where the brain interprets the image as smooth, continuous motion.

At 500Hz, the eye-tracking blur window is so narrow that it is nearly as short as the visual system can meaningfully integrate, meaning there is no need for any artificial motion smoothing.

Just like MSI, Acer is aiming the Predator X27U F5 directly at competitive gamers. It will be available in EMEA in Q3 for 899 EURO, which translates to approximately $1,000 USD. Unfortunately, we don't have any word on when this monitor will be released in North America.
