TL;DR: ASUS unveiled the ROG Strix ACE XG248QSG at Computex 2025, the world’s fastest eSports gaming monitor with a 610Hz refresh rate. Designed for competitive gamers, it prioritizes ultra-smooth gameplay over image clarity, featuring a 1920x1080 SuperTN panel ideal for fast-paced titles like DOOM and Counter-Strike.

Computex 2025 has officially kicked off, and ASUS has let me go hands-on with the ROG Strix ACE XG248QSG, the world's fastest eSports gaming monitor.

ASUS had the new monitor on display at the company's booth at Computex 2025, located in Taiwan, and the monitor, which I was previewed a day earlier, was this time loaded up with DOOM: The Dark Ages, a great title to showcase this blisteringly-fast refresh rate. The ROG Strix ACE XG248QSG is a SuperTN with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, meaning the image clarity wasn't the greatest, but that isn't the main focus of the display. ASUS is aiming the ROG Strix ACE XG248QSG directly at competitive gamers, who typically only care about how many frames they are able to produce on their display.

The XG248QSG didn't disappoint in this regard, with the PC hooked up to the display being able to push DOOM: The Dark Ages to the desired 610Hz. The game felt incredibly smooth, smoother than almost any other display I have been lucky enough to test throughout my time reviewing what is now dozens of gaming monitors. The quick first impressions I had on the monitor are as follows: buttery smooth frame rate, very nice ASUS-style design that aligns with their other gaming monitors, but very average visuals.

Personally, I think the hit to image clarity on the XG248QSG is far too great to warrant buying the 610Hz over other options on the market. I would happily drop that refresh rate down to a comfortable 240Hz or even 144Hz to get a juicy QD-OLED panel with a higher resolution. With that being said, the intended experience of the XG248QSG does hit the mark ASUS is aiming for, and I can imagine competitive gamers drooling over this many frames displayed on their monitor screen. Titles such as Counter-Strike, Overwatch, and any other twitch-shooter that has a framerate ceiling that can get close to the 610Hz will feel incredibly good on the XG248QSG.

I have talked to ASUS and will be getting one of these displays in for testing, where I will be putting it through its paces in a variety of titles. But for those competitive gamers who just want as many frames as they possibly can, regardless of image clarity, the new king is here and it's wearing an ASUS ROG logo.
