Larian Studios has officially closed the door on new content updates for its universally acclaimed Baldur's Gate 3, and has since commenced a hiring push for its new dedicated storytelling department.
The announcement, posted by the studio's official X account and shared by its director of publishing, calls for new talent to assist with "concocting tales, complete with world-building and pronunciation guides" for its next two RPG projects.
While little information is available regarding the new projects, it's been confirmed that the titles won't take place in the Baldur's Gate universe. As you'd expect from Larian, the two "very ambitious" RPGs will stick to the studio's DNA, focusing heavily on immersive worldbuilding, roleplaying, and storytelling.
The two new projects were announced in May last year, following the opening of Larian Studios Warsaw. This Polish-based studio was opened to recruit new talent in the region after Larian's CEO, Swen Vincke, was impressed by his first-hand experiences at Poland's Game Industry Conference 2024.'

Since then, Larian has officially closed the door on new content updates, finalizing the sizeable Patch 8 in April, which added cross-play, photo mode, new subclasses, and more. Now, with the studio's sights set on new horizons, Larian is looking for all the best storytelling talent it can get - seeking a new story department lead, creative partnerships developer, and senior story editor.
The job listings remain relatively tight-lipped about the new titles, but the details call for narrative consistency and "across multiple projects, formats and genres", hinting that the new titles may experiment beyond classic CRPG formats.
