Cyberpunk 2077's incoming Switch 2 version was created entirely by CD Projekt RED, a new report from Game File indicates.

Like many developers who made games for the woefully-outdated Switch 1, CD Projekt took a shine to Nintendo's new Switch 2 successor. With supercharged power, new tools like DLSS, and a high-refresh display panel, the new console refreshes the Switch so it can now play more demanding modern games. The Switch 2 can belt out 4K 60FPS gaming and developers are eager to flex the system in creative new ways.
That's what CD Projekt RED is doing with Cyberpunk 2077, which will be a Switch 2 launch game. According to a new interview with Stephen Totilo's Game File publication, CD Projekt developed the game entirely in-house. There apparently may not have been any outsourcing for the Switch 2 version of Cyberpunk, which also plays into Nintendo's requirement of ultra-confidential secrecy from its third-party developer partners like CD Projekt.
Engine programmer Tim Green told Totilo the game was made internally, and that Nintendo worked very closely with the studio to work out any potential issues with the Switch 2's development environment.
"Every release comes with its own challenges, and especially on a brand new platform, but Nintendo was able to get us through each of these and ensure a smooth development process ahead of the June 5 launch," Green said in the interview.
Cyberpunk 2077 will be one of the most interesting games on the Switch 2 because it fully utilizes NVIDIA's DLSS technology in all form factors. The game leverages DLSS even when playing on-the-go in handheld mode on the Switch 2.
CD Projekt has also confirmed the game will run at around 40FPS in performance mode while docked.
