Our Verdict

In recent months, added functionality of the Android smartphone OS has allowed vendors to release flash drive solutions that house both standard USB 3.0 connectivity, along with a second port for connecting to your mobile device. These allow easy transfer of data between smartphones and PCs, enabling us to take more data with us on the go.
The JumpDrive M20 is the latest dual port solution from Lexar that serves as a portal for users to transfer data between their PC or Mac to their Android enabled smartphone or tablet. This solution through its standard USB 3.0 connection is capable of 120 MB/s read and 55 MB/s write, and is compatible with ASTRO file manager on Android. Compatibility extends to modern Windows operating system, along with OS X 10.6+ and Android 4.1+ tablets and smartphones that support the OTG protocol.
MSRP of the Lexar JumpDrive M20 Mobile in the 32GB capacity is set at $36.99 and features a three-year warranty.

Packaging for the M20 has the capacity listed at the top right. The drive itself is housed behind plastic, while a mention of the Astro file manager compatibility is made to the right.

The back of the package lists features of the M20 in several languages.

In the image above, we have the M20 moved in to the OTG position for connecting the drive to your Android device.

Our next image has the drive in the standard flash drive setup. As you can see, the drive uses a single sliding mechanism to move between each mode. You can optionally slide the drive to the middle for protecting it while not in use.

The Lexar JumpDrive M20 Mobile is factory formatted with the FAT32 file system. Useable capacity after formatting is 29.7GB.

Our sequential testing of the M20 Mobile went pretty good. The drive was able to reach 144 MB/s read with write numbers around 40 MB/s.

DiskBench testing wasn't as kind to the M20 with results for MKV testing touching just 37 MB/s and JPEG touching just 6 MB/s.

Price/performance put the M20 Mobile towards the bottom, but still respectable. With that said, the M20 did come in at 85.7% above the Voyager LS.
Like most OTG solutions, the Lexar M20 Mobile isn't the quickest drive we have tested to this point. With that said, these drives aren't meant to be the highest tier in terms of performance, but rather to provide a solution for those wanting to transfer data between their PC and smartphone.
On the issue of performance, the Lexar M20 as a USB 3.0 solution isn't the worst we have seen either, it's actually quite decent with its read performance. In testing the drives' sequential performance, we did reach 144 MB/s, or 24 MB/s above marketing performance of 120 MB/s. Build quality is on par with expectations for a flash drive, as the plastics fit together well, the sliding mechanism has little resistance and easily tucks both connectors away for protection.
