Kingston has announced a range of DDR2 modules for AMD's newly launched Spider platform and we're talking 1,066MHz modules with a rather high latencty of 7-7-7-20. These are 1,066MHz modules and they operate at 1.8V. The reason for the DDR3 like latencies comes down to two reasons, first of all the high clock speeds, but secondly and most importantly, these are ValueRAM modules and not the faster HyperX type.

We can somewhat forgive the high latencies for the target market and the price seems to be fairly reasonable as well at US$170 for a 1GB kit and US$340 for a 2GB kit. An individual 512MB module goes for US$89 and 1GB modules for US$178. You'll most like be able to find them for less than the MSRP though, but you might as well stick with some cheaper DDR2 800 modules at lower latency.

Not long after seeing Thermalright introduce their new "HR-07 Duo" RAM heatsinks to the market, Thermaltake jump in with a rather unique looking RAM cooler of their own.

Dubbed the V1R, this RAM cooler is based off their V1 CPU cooler with V-shapped copper fin design and is suited to both DDR and DDR2 memory types.

Sony has just announced its latest addition to its T-series of digital cameras, the DSC-T2. It's yet another pocket camera with an 8.1 Megapixel sensor, but what makes it stand out is the fact that has 4GB of built in memory. It will also accept Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo cards just in case 4GB isn't enough for you.

On the back is a large-ish 2.7-inch touch sensitive LCD display which is used as the main controls, although there's still separate buttons for zoom and playback. This is very much a consumer camera and Sony has added easy picture and video sharing features to the camera and it even has a built in scrapbook feature.

Nvidia first pioneered Enhanced Performance Profiles (EPP) with Corsair and one of the upcoming features of the Intel X38 chipset is Extreme Memory which works in a similar way.

OCZ has just announced that they are first out with Intel Extreme memory modules with DDR3 at 1600MHz (PC-12800).

OCZ are going psycho on DDR3 modules, it seems they're releasing new variants every few days at the moment. Just the other day I made mention of some new PC3-12800 Platinum Edition modules becoming available very soon, and within a few days they raise the bar even further and dish up some ultra-fast 1800 MHz flavours (PC3-14400) also as members of their Platinum Edition family.

Due to the extreme ceiling of these, rated timings are nothing to write home about at CL8-8-8-27. They can be purchased as either single 1GB modules or in dual channel 2GB kits.

Pricing hasn't been disclosed yet but if you're serious about picking some up, you'd better make sure those pockets are mighty deep.

GeIL has launched a new line of DDR3 memory products and
GeIL is going straight for the low latency market. Sometimes it's just better to wait a little bit before you bring out new products and it seems like GeIL took its time so it could come out with some high performance modules straight away.

We're looking at 1,066 and 1,333MHz modules from the word go and GeIL will offer the 1,066MHz modules with memory timings of 6-6-6 and 7-7-7, there will of course be a price difference here between the modules.

Sparkle has released a new card under its Calibre brand, the P850+ which is based on a GeForce 8500 GT GPU. This in itself is hardly exciting, but the fact that the P850+ comes with 512MB of GDDR3 memory makes this a much more appealing card. It's one of the first GeForce 8500 GT based cards with 512MB of GDDR3 memory and Sparkle's Calibre series comes factory overclocked.

The P850+ has its GPU clocked at 650MHz, that's a 200MHz overclock compared to stock clocks. Again, the memory is clocked at 1,440MHz, some 640MHz faster than stock clocks and faster than the stock memory clock speeds of a GeForce 8600 GT. The shader clock speed is 1,300MHz which is a 500MHz overclock.
