Super Talent just announced their latest product, a 256GB solid state drive using the Serial ATA interface.
Up until now the biggest solid state drives available on the market were 128GB but Super Talent tells us that these products are sampling now and they are ready to ship to their OEM customers worldwide.
If you've got the cash to blow on one of these, good luck to you but these products will be more suited toward particular markets and industrial systems exposed to the elements. The operating of the I-Temp model designed especially for harsh environments is able to operate in temperatures ranging from -40C to 85C.
You might start to see 256GB SDD's appearing in notebooks soon but be prepared to pay mega bucks if you want one.
