ASUS, OnePlus and Razer are already up in the 90-120Hz refresh rate on their smartphones, but it looks like they will be joined by Google with its next wave of Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL smartphones.

According to "a reliable source" of 9to5Google, the new Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL smartphones will have 90Hz displays which Google will call 'Smooth Display'. We should expect the Pixel 4 to have a 5.7-inch Full HD+ display while a 6.3-inch Quad HD+ display will find a home in the Pixel 4 XL -- both will be OLED panels.

Google is expected to use Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chip, 6GB of RAM (in both) and will each come in 64GB and 128GB flavors in the US. Google will use the latest Android Q on the new Pixel 4 phones, somethign that I'm thoroughly enjoying the beta of on my Pixel 3 XL at the moment.

We should expect a next-gen Google Assistant at this rate, since the new Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are looking like standout phones -- 90Hz refresh, Android Q, new SoC, 6GB of RAM, and a bunch of Google services and surprises? Count me in.

We will see the new Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL unveiled by Google at their Made by Google event in October.
