Square Enix and Sony have taken center stage during State of Play, dropping a brand new teaser trailer for the highly anticipated Final Fantasy VII Remake.

Final Fantasy VII was first announced back in E3 of 2015, since then the game has gone through a bit of a development fiasco with Square Enix pulling development from third-party development studio CyberConnect2. Square Enix chose to let CyberConnect2 go and take development in-house of Square Enix, since then the game has dropped off the radar until now.

To start off, the game looks absolutely incredible. It can already be seen that Square Enix has done an absolutely fantastic job at the graphical remodeling, level of detail, shading, lighting and basically everything else that can be spotted. Kotaku's Jason Schreier describes Final Fantasy VII as a "new game", and I couldn't agree with that description more. Square Enix say at the end of the trailer that there will be more information released in June, so I'd expect a full trailer or an announcement of some kind throughout E3 2019.
