TL;DR: ERYING's compact MoDT motherboards pair soldered Core i7-13798HRE or Core i5-13598HRE processors with DDR4 and PCIe 5.0, but require a discrete GPU for display output. The boards are priced from about $180, with the i7 version around $210.

Intel's Raptor Lake architecture is getting a new desktop implementation, with ERYING introducing compact MoDT (Mobile-on-Desktop) motherboards built around its new embedded Core i7-13798HRE and Core i5-13598HRE processors.

At the heart of the two boards are Intel's Core i7-13798HRE and Core i5-13598HRE processors, both reportedly rated at 55W. The Core i7-13798HRE combines 6 P-cores and 8 E-cores for 14 cores and 20 threads, with boost clocks up to 5.0GHz and 24MB of L3 cache. The Core i5-13598HRE is its 12-core/16-thread sibling with 4 P-cores and 8 E-cores, 18MB of L3 cache, and boost clocks up to 4.8GHz.

ERYING explicitly describes the Core i7-13798HRE as essentially a Core i7-13800HRE without integrated graphics. Based on its specifications, the i5-13598HRE appears to follow the same pattern: an i5-13600HRE-class part with integrated graphics disabled.

Notably, these chips differ from the Core i7-13799HRE and Core i5-13599HRE processors that appeared in Mouser's Intel listings a few days earlier. At the time of writing, neither the 13798HRE/13598HRE pair nor the recently surfaced 13799HRE/13599HRE pair appears in Intel's public ARK database.

These processors have been paired with a compact 175 x 215mm motherboard. ERYING gives the design two DDR4 DIMM slots, while providing a PCIe 5.0 x8 primary graphics slot and a PCIe 3.0 x4 secondary slot. Storage consists of one PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2, one PCIe 3.0 x4 M.2, and two SATA ports. ERYING says the PCIe and storage lanes come from the CPU, rather than the chipset.

In terms of rear I/O, we get two 10Gbps USB-A ports, six USB 2.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, and a separate M.2 slot for Wi-Fi. Because the CPUs have no working integrated GPU, ERYING doesn't put HDMI or DisplayPort connectors on the board. A discrete GPU is therefore required for display output.

While reports list a 55W base power for the new SKUs, ERYING configures its desktop board much more aggressively, with 95W PL1 and 115W PL2 limits. The company reports about 800 single-core points and nearly 8,000 multi-core points in CPU-Z, while Cinebench R23 multi-core lands around 16,000 points.

The company also tested the i7-13798HRE board with an RTX 4070. ERYING's own tests show it behind its much more powerful i9-13980HX and Ryzen 9 8945HX MoDT platforms. For temperatures, ERYING says the chip held around 72°C at 115W and 62°C after dropping to 95W during testing.
