German PC cooling manufacturer Noctua has publicly confirmed that the company has no plans to introduce RGB lighting or screens to its products, unlike the vast majority of its competitors. In an interview with Club386, Noctua's chief product officer, Jakob Dellinger, stated that Noctua would rather focus on improving cooling performance than divert resources toward cosmetic features that have no impact on the product's actual performance.
Dellinger stated that Noctua isn't putting any of its competitors down for implementing RGB lighting; instead, Noctua's decision is a "general" one where it would rather put all of its resources on engineering. "We like catering to a specific audience who value quietness, performance, and quality, rather than those who might put their priority on visuals. But that's not to say we're above anything like that [RGB]. It's just our focus."

Furthermore, Noctua's chief product officer noted that Noctua wants to provide the highest quality possible in its products by improving thermal efficiency and acoustic performance. However, Dellinger was reportedly careful not to say Noctua would "never" build a cooler with screens or RGB lighting, instead specifying that the chances Noctua would do the former are extremely slim.

It's no secret that Noctua is one of the most enthusiastic brands when it comes to PC cooling. The company is renowned for going the extra mile to squeeze every ounce of performance possible out of its cooler designs. For example, Noctua previously revealed its manufacturing process for creating black versions of its fans, and revealed the "simple" feat of making a new color for an existing product can take six to twelve months to make due to the subtle differences in performance different color pigments can have on the polymer Noctua uses for making fan blades.

Arguably, no other product serves as a better example of Noctua's stance on RGB lighting or screens than its latest and first AIO liquid cooler it has built, the NL-LC1. The LC1 features no RGB lighting options or screens, but, based on our review, we found the cooler features chart-topping performance thanks to its Asetek-derived Emma V2 pump, paired with a custom noise absorber Noctua built specifically for the pump, and the inclusion of either NF-A12x25 G2 or NF-A14x25 G2 fans.
