GTA 6 pre-orders will begin next week on June 25, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, Rockstar Games today confirmed.

Today Rockstar announced the pre-order dates for the most anticipated game in the last 10 years, GTA 6, while also unveiling the game's official cover art. The biggest question everyone has is how much the game will cost, and that hasn't been revealed yet. There's speculation that Rockstar could charge a $79.99 base price for the game, or potentially even a $99.99 version with GTA Online extras.
"Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI will officially begin on June 25 on digital storefronts and at other select retailers," Rockstar writes.
There's still a lot of info that we don't know, including how exactly the online component will work or whether or not there's cross-play involved, but pre-orders opening up so soon does indicate the game may not be delayed past its planned November 19, 2026 launch.
GTA 6 is expected to be the biggest entertainment launch of all time, and analysts believe the game will sell tens of millions of copies at launch and throughout its subsequent first year on the market.
Morgan Stanley believes GTA 6 could sell 40 million copies in 4 months, whereas other analysts believe the game could have a more muted performance with $2.7 billion earned on 38 million sales across its first year.
Take-Two Interactive expects that GTA 6 will help boost console sales despite rising prices on both the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, and this could also be true for the Pro versions should Rockstar announce any optimizations on that front, but those may be saved for a re-release farther down the line.
