Samsung unveils a world's first gaming monitor and it's making me drool

Samsung just shattered the high-resolution vs. high-refresh-rate question any PC gamer asks themselves when they are deciding to upgrade their display.

However, Samsung now has something that is designed to hit the sweet spot, and that's its new QD-OLED panel, which is capable of hitting 360Hz at 4K natively and 680Hz in Dual Mode.

This marks the first time a monitor can deliver both 4K resolution at a 360Hz refresh rate, which has long become a strive point for gaming monitor development, especially with QD-OLED panel technology.

The panel, set to debut at Computex 2026, features a 16:9 aspect ratio, 1,300 nits of peak brightness, and is already being supplied to major brands like ASUS and MSI. With Dual Mode activated, users can push the refresh rate up to 680Hz for the smoothest possible experience in fast-paced competitive games, specifically first-person-shooter titles.

For years, gamers had to choose between high-resolution visuals and high refresh rates. Now, Samsung's QD-OLED technology offers both, and it's scaling to mass-market models.

The panel's RGB V-Stripe design and improved brightness make it a serious contender for both competitive and casual use, and possibly the best QD-OLED panel that has ever been released when it comes to the value it can offer gamers.

With QD-OLED panels shipping to seven manufacturers in 2026, we're on the cusp of a new era in gaming monitors. While this new panel, which we will undoubtedly see from major display brands such as MSI and ASUS very soon, Samsung is pushing the envelope forward for what can be achieved with QD-OLED technology.
