Crimson Desert has retained its multimillion sales throughout its first month as Pearl Abyss continues releasing new updates based on fan feedback.

South Korean developer Pearl Abyss is celebrating a month of strong sales for its first-ever singleplayer game, Crimson Desert. The company announced that the game has now sold over 5 million copies in less than a month on the market, solidifying it as one of the best-selling games of the year.
"Crimson Desert has sold through over 5 million copies worldwide! Thank you to every Greymane who has joined us on this journey, experienced the world of Pywel, and supported the game. Reaching this milestone would not have been possible without your support and we are truly grateful."

The game has sat on Steam's best-sellers list since it was introduced in March, and has likewise been in the PlayStation Store's top US purchases since release.
Pearl Abyss issued the press release during after-hours trading, so the announcement has yet to affect the company's stock. It's possible that the sales milestone will help boost things, as positive news tends to give investors more confidence. At the time of writing, Pearl Abyss's stock is at 56,000KRW, down nearly 2% over the last 5 days of trading.
Unlike other developers, the company is taking a different approach with Crimson Desert, opting to roll out a ton of quality of life updates and changes based on what fans want to see in the game. The group went so far as to add a skill into the game that replicated a glitch that fans had found throughout their playthroughs.
