Although Baldur's Gate 3 is one of the most universally-loved video games of all time. the developers at Larian want to shake things up with their secret new game.

Baldur's Gate 3 developer Larian Studios is hard at work on their next game, but there's no telling what it will be. Now on the second anniversary of BG3's release, Larian Studios boss Swen Vincke teases the new project.
According to Vincke, the game (which hasn't even been announced or revealed yet) may be a breath of fresh air for fans, the same way that Baldur's Gate 3 helped revivify the cRPG genre and bring it to the mainstream. Of course, we don't know exactly what type of game this is, only that it's "crazy" and it'll deliver fun in "surprising ways."
Here's what the Baldur's Gate 3 boss said on Twitter:
Crazy to think it's only been two years. It's truly been life changing, probably worth writing about one day. But I can spoil the biggest takeaway: BG3 was what allowed us to do our next crazy thing.
How that will pan out is anyone's guess, but I can assure you we're working hard to ensure you'll have plenty of fun. Like really - loads of it, in a surprising way.
And I can't wait to show you. But you'll need to be patient, and we'll need a bit of time to make it all work. It'll be worth it, though.
Baldur's Gate 3 was a massive success for Larian and for Dungeons & Dragons license-holder Wizards of the Coast, who saw a substantial revenue spike to $133 million upon BG3's release.
