A new Friday the 13th video game is on the way, producer Robert Barsamian announced at San Diego Comic-Con.

With both Clive Barker and even John Carpenter working on games, the demand for horror movie games appears to be strong. Film companies are now more willing to license out big names like Texas Chain Saw Massacre and Friday the 13th. The last F13 game, an online-driven multiplayer game, was pulled offline last year due to licensing. Now Jason Voorhees is coming back to the gaming world courtesy of Horror Inc's Jason Universe, a new brand name that handles the Friday the 13th franchise.
"I can tell you that a new sequel movie and new sequel game are at the top of our list. In fact, it's where most of our energy's going right now. And I can tell you, finally, we're in a position to deliver on that," said Horror Inc president Robert Barsamian.
"While we're not officially announcing with our partners today, both are coming. They're both in the works and they're both coming."
This isn't the first time we've heard about this new Friday the 13th video game. Back in 2023, original series composer Harry Manfredini said that he was working on music for a new F13 video game.
Exact details of the video game remain unknown, and it's unclear if this new Friday the 13th game will be another microtransaction-driven online game with a limited lifespan, similar to the first game.
Barsamian was instrumental in getting the first Friday the 13th game made, and served as executive producer on the project.
Horror Inc acquired the Friday the 13th license following years of legal battles between screenwriter Victor Miller and producer Sean Cunningham. Horror Inc is now running the Friday the 13th license exclusively through Striker Entertainment, which handles new Jason Universe products including shows and video games.
