It ships with a custom wireless joystick (something that wasn't available back in the late 1970s) and a PAC-MAN: Double Feature 2-in-1 cartridge, which includes both the Atari 2600 version of the game and the Atari 7800 version. Although it looks identical to the original Atari 2600, the Atari+ 2600 is built for the modern era with HDMI output and the ability to play both Atari 2600 and 7800 games.
Pre-orders for the new Atari 2600+ PAC-MAN Edition console, priced at $169.99 USD, open on July 23 with shipping expected in October. The design will undoubtedly appeal to retro gaming collectors and PAC-MAN fans alike, and it includes fun little touches like PAC-MAN and pellets on the joystick, and Ghosts chasing the titular character on the front panel of the console.
And for those who want to expand their collection, the PAC-MAN edition joysticks are available in five colors, each representing a different Ghost. PAC-MAN is currently celebrating its 45th anniversary this year, with Bandai Namco also releasing a brand-new title in the series called Shadow Labyrinth for PC and modern PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox consoles.
