Chris Avellone is working on a new game, but it's not Fallout-related--it's a new fantasy RPG.

Fallout New Vegas writer Chris Avellone has returned to the games industry, and is working on a new RPG. Avellone has officially joined Republic Games, a new studio built by former Quantic Dream writer Adam Williams, to help design the narrative of a dark fantasy RPG.
The main focus for this new game, Williams says, is to "combine that golden-age of RPG design with a next-level interactive storytelling."
"We are creating a dark fantasy story with immersive gameplay and a rich interactive narrative which aims to recapture that magic--and take it to the next level."
Avellone, for his part, says that he was impressed with the ideas that Williams and the other Republic Games team members have crafted:
"I love the design principles he's outlining for the game, and even better, I love the narrative construction he's implementing as well," he told Eurogamer.
The game doesn't have a name yet (things are still so new that Republic's website is still mostly blank) but Williams did offer a robust vision of gameplay features and story beats.
"As you'd expect from the team, our RPG will feature a rich, interesting story with lots of meaningful choices, branches, and endings.
"Our world will feature a totalitarian regime seeking to crush a rebellion, with competing factions and allegiances the player can join, giving them the full freedom to create the hero - or antihero - they want to be.
"There is also a deep undercurrent of prophecy and the supernatural which will elevate the player's adventure into the realms of mythology. But in addition to the narrative, we also have full, classic RPG gameplay - including combat, character creation, recruitable companions, romances and more.
"Our ambition is to combine that 'golden-age of RPGs' design with a next-level interactive storytelling."
The UK.gov website shows specific data for Republic Games, and according to the filings, the studio has around £1.43 million in capital and reserves.
