Spoiler warning: The first hour of Death Stranding 2 has been leaked online...but you might not understand what's going on in the footage.

A gamer has uploaded the first 56 minutes of Hideo Kojima's new game Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, giving important story and character updates along the way. We also get a nice bit of uninterrupted and raw gameplay footage that highlights Death Stranding 2's emphasis on gunplay and stealth this time around, hearkening back to Kojima's halcyon days of Metal Gear.
There's just one big catch: The entire video is in Spanish, so there's a chance viewers won't be able to read any of the subtitles. The footage is a predictable mix of story developments and flashback sequences where applicable as well as an interactive walkthrough that runs players through the basics of the game--sneaking, balancing cargo/weight management, shooting, and using the dynamic high-tech UI to track, plot, and travel across the world.
As you'd expect, the footage is mostly a somber and introspective journey until players come across enemies--then Death Stranding 2 turns into a full-on neo Metal Gear Solid. You can zap enemies, plot hazards, and generally tackle areas as you see fit.
Death Stranding 2 releases on June 26, 2025 exclusively on the PlayStation 5.

Unique and realistic world
In the vast open world of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, countless areas with vastly different terrains and environments are seamlessly connected, and the changing time, weather and nature itself provide a variety of landscapes and challenges.
Evolved and more flexible action
There are various obstacles that will prevent Sam from completing his mission. Face them head-on, sneak around, or completely avoid dangerous areas. Choose your approach to any situation.
A deep and captivating story
Eleven months after the events of the previous game, Death Stranding, which connected a divided America and prevented the extinction of humanity, Sam and his friends begin a new journey of 'connection' in the unknown wilderness.
Social strand system
Your actions affect someone else's world, and their actions affect yours. Make sure you leave your mark on this world.
Hands across Australia
The iconic Social Strand System of Death Stranding returns to encourage asynchronous connection across the globe. Your actions in-game affect how other players interact with the world and vice-versa - so connect, collaborate, and help your fellow Porters on their journeys.
Leave a Like on a useful bridge, donate resources to community projects, store fieldware in shared lockers and finish incomplete deliveries as you stumble upon dropped cargo. As you support other players on their journeys, your own reputation will grow, giving you access to valuable resources and new gear.
Fight for the future
Face enigmatic Mech soldiers, as-yet unseen BTs, and new boss types that will push Sam to his limits. As you prepare for each journey, you'll be able to fabricate weapons like machine guns, shotguns and grenade launchers to deal with threats. Or, choose to avoid confrontation altogether with stealth - using decoy holograms, silent takedowns and long-ranged gear.
Through APAS enhancements, Sam can learn new skills that will improve his odds of survival, like enhanced weapon fire-rates or reduced movement noise to help him stay hidden.
Go beyond the United Cities of America
Join Sam for the next chapter of his journey as he attempts to connect Australia to the Chiral Network. Navigate a living environment through day and night cycles, natural disasters including earthquakes, sandstorms and forest fires, and Timefall - a rain that instantly ages everything it touches.
To traverse this dangerous landscape, you'll need to build new types of infrastructure, master specialised equipment, and confront (or evade) the otherworldly creatures that roam the fractured world.
