ASUS has just announced its new ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5080 Dhahab CORE OC Edition graphics card, ready to rizz up your rig... if you live in the Middle East, or buy it at some utterly ridiculous price on eBay. Check it out:

The new ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5080 Dhahab CORE OC Edition graphics card includes a factory overclock on its GPU, with speeds of up to 2760MHz (and I'm sure a little more through manual overclocking) as well as the usual 16GB GDDR7 memory found on the RTX 5080.
ASUS really does go all-out with its Dhahab Edition graphics cards, with the ROG Astral RTX 5080 Dhahab CORE OC Edition evoking the image of a gold brick, with the card radiating premium, premium, premium on every edge and crevace of the card. It looks like a stunner, with skyscraper imagry that emphasizes the ROG Astral RTX 5080 Dhahab CORE OC Edition "towering innovation".

ASUS explains: "Its elegant calligraphy gives the card an air of mystery, daring you to unlock its full potential. And the golden ROG fearless eye logo reminds onlookers that this card is among ROG's finest. Looks aren't just about artistry - construction plays a big part in a premium design. That's why this card features a diecast frame, shroud, and backplate. This strong material reinforces the gold standard we set with our ROG Astral cards".
"The ROG Astral GeForce RTXâ„¢ 5080 Dhahab CORE features an exquisite, premium design that combines cutting-edge aesthetics with exceptional performance. It offers ROG's first quad-fan design, coupled with a patented vapor chamber, increased heatsink fin density, a phase-change GPU thermal pad, towering default clock speeds, boosted power delivery, and more. These premium innovations - amplified by an eye-catching die-cast frame and metal GPU bracket - combine to deliver absolute performance that can handle even the most demanding gaming scenarios".

ASUS packs in all of the high-end bells and whistles into its new ROG Astral RTX 5080 Dhahab CORE OC Edition, starting with 50A MOSFETs for premium power delivery, but with that premium power delivery, it requires protection. This is where the company has added a PCB coating to guard against moisture and debris-induced short circuits, with the card's four-corner GPU adhesive process -- ASUS GPU Guard -- and a GPU bracket for uniform mounting pressure to ensure the GPU remains safe and secure at all times.
ASUS has even optimized its manufacturing process to "champion longevity" with its in-house Auto-Extreme Technology reducing thermal strain on components during the soldering phase by automating the entire process in a single pass, producing a card -- in this case the ROG Astral RTX 5080 Dhahab CORE OC Edition -- that's built to last longer, and game harder.
We don't have a price on the new ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5080 Dhahab CORE OC Edition just yet, but don't expect it to be cheap... especially considering that the Dhahab Edition graphics cards sport 6.5 grams of real gold with 999 purity, which on its own, is worth around $700.
The higher-end ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5090 Dhahab Edition starts at $7000 and goes all the way up to $10,600 and has also been hitting eBay for up to (an insane) $22,900 by scalpers... so don't expect the new ROG Astral RTX 5080 Dhahab CORE OC Edition to be cheap. This is only for the Middle East market, and for collectors (and scalpers) but boy-oh-boy does it look amazing.
