Nacon secures a big multi-year deal to make new WRC games from 2027 - 2032, the companies have announced.

A bit ago, we reported that EA and Codemasters halted development of new WRC games, and that WRC 24 would be the last title in the series from this particular developer. Now the WRC franchise has found a new home with French video games publisher Nacon, a group known for its popular sports games like its Rugby League and Cricket titles, as well as AA games like Robocop: Rogue City.
Nacon's new WRC games will offer a "complete reboot" of the series, and the publisher will have exclusive rights to make games across six seasons from 2027-2032 across PC and consoles.
"As part of this strategic partnership, NACON will begin development of an all-new WRC game series, aiming to deliver an immersive experience that faithfully reflects the reality of the championship and meets the expectations of both rally enthusiasts and new players. The games will feature the official rallies, vehicles, teams, drivers, and sponsors among the many anticipated content elements.
"This project represents a complete reboot of the franchise, based on an entirely fresh vision, and marks an ambitious new chapter in the brand's development."
This isn't the first time Nacon published a WRC game--the group also published both the WRC 9 and WRC 10 games released in 2020-21.
The official WRC account posted an update to fans on Twitter:
This is not an evolution. It's a revolution.
WRC Promoter and Nacon are joining forces to take WRC's game series in a whole new direction from 2027 to 2032.
Nacon and WRC aim to deliver an immersive experience that stays faithful to the reality of the WRC, meeting the expectations of both rally enthusiasts and new players.
