Gearbox is ready to showcase Borderlands 4 gameplay, and they're teaming up with PlayStation to make it happen.

Today, Gearbox's Randy Pitchford announced that Borderlands 4 will now release on September 12, 2025, which is 11 days earlier than its original release date of September 23.
The devs will highlight guided Borderlands 4 gameplay during a special PlayStation State of Play coming tomorrow at 5PM EST. It'll include co-op gameplay, so expect to see everything from crazy new skill synergies to outrageous weapons and ridiculous bosses.
"Get ready for a deep dive on Borderlands 4! During this special State of Play, I'll be joined by other members of the Gearbox team to share the nitty-gritty details of how you'll wreak havoc across Kairos and take down the Timekeeper," Borderlands 4 creative director Graeme Timmins said.
"Back at February's State of Play, we unveiled the game's Launch Date Trailer, which showcased a taste of the explosive action, fearsome enemies, and powerful loot. Since then, we've announced that Borderlands 4's launch has moved up to September 12, 2025, meaning you'll get to enjoy the looter shooter action even earlier!
"In this upcoming State of Play, strap in with me and Anthony Nicholson, Senior Project Producer, for over 20 minutes of developer-guided gameplay, including missions, killer weapons, exciting Action Skills, new and returning characters, and more."
And yes, once again Gearbox is pushing the bar with loot: The studio says that Borderlands 4 will have "billions of wild and deadly weapons," which is just a bit more than the "over 1 billion guns" that Borderlands 3 delivered.
